In Lk. 4:18-19 Jesus began his earthly ministry by reading from Isa. 61:1-2 declaring He was the fulfillment of this scripture and within the passage in Lk.4:18 addressed 3 specific problems that He came to deliver us from:
- Emotional Wounds “heal the brokenhearted”
- Spiritual Issues “gospel to the poor…recovery of sight to the blind
- Strongholds “liberty to the captives…liberty to those oppressed
